Artist's Touch for iPhone App Reviews

Seems to be a good program with potential, but right now very unstable and its not possible to finish a picture without crash....right now, dont buy it!

The paint experience is great. Negative point is the low resolution. Just 1024px is not enough.

This app has some great features however it still needs a lot of work. It is buggy and hard to control. It doesnt respond to tapping and the blueprint feature is really just painting on the original image like the free oil painting application. I really hope this app is updated in the future. Otherwise I wish I had saved my money.

When you watch the demo available for this program suddenly everything clicks into place. Its fantastic! I almost deleted it from my iPod Touch because I couldnt understand it but when they put out an upgrade for this program I went to their web site to watch the video and now I absolutely love this app. Its tons of fun when you know what youre doing. (VBG) I really do recommend getting this app! Sylvie

This app has potential but its extremely buggy. When in the middle of doing something it saves your work and goes back to the gallery and doesnt let you edit it again. It also doesnt let you delete your work off the gallery even though the option is there. Needs great improvement!

This app has potential however it wont open. It did at one time but would kick me out when I choose a brush but after updating it the program now boots me out when I open it up. Grrrrr

My title says it all every time I Click on somthing it sends me to my iPods home page! Whata waste! >:(

All the updates on this app only make my ipod crash, fist when i tried to change brushes and now when i try to open it it automaticly crashes

I know it crashed a lot of times initially and lot of ppl gave negative reviews just bcos of that, but I wish that ppl come back and change the reviews from time to time (specially if they had an issue initially which got resolved). I liked this app and does quite some neat stuff. The description says it all and anything more here is just going to be - a good buy and totally worth it...

I love this app, Its so easy to use and has such a unique interface. I thank the creators for making something to distract me on long bus trips :)

Its a nice app and does its job well, I havent experienced any problems with it as of yet, definitely reccomend it.

When I open it. It crashed.

This is a cool app, it makes an artist out of someone who cannot draw at all. I wish there is a help function within the app. There is currently only an online video which initially I could not accessed. Without that video, I nearly gave up on the app as I could not figure out how to use it. I would be lovely to be able to zoom in as I could love to be able to work on just a portion of my photo. Overally, this is a lovely app.

I love using this ap anytime I have some spare time. It is one of the few aps that actually allows you to be fully creative. I can turn my photos into works of art using my own creativity, techniques, and style. Its easy to use and you can spend minutes transforming a photo or longer, depending what you want to do and how creative you want to be. Excellent ap for the artist or dormant artist in us all.

The "paintings" Ive made are so much nicer right off the mark than any oil painting filter in a retouch program. Watching the painting take shape under your fingers is immersive and relaxing, almost like working an intricate jigsaw puzzle. The oil paint and chalk tools are amazing, and the brush type, the paper textures, and background colors can be changed at any time. The shake to undo feature is nice, but if youre like me and dont like flinging expensive pieces of technology around, you can undo from a menu selection. It only undoes one step back however, so if you overwork a section or work into part of the picture that you didnt intend to, your choices are to live with it or start over completely. And another word of warning, if you save the painting to you camera roll, then youre done, theres no going back to a canvas after that. With that said, theres almost no way to make a serious mistake. Its just pure painting fun. Its still a little buggy but I am impressed at how quickly and how often and this developer addresses issues. All in all it seems to be a quality product. Im really looking forward to playing with this app for a long, long time! (PS I have an iPhone 3G running 3.0 and have never experienced crashing or problems opening the app.)

This is my favorite painting/imaging tool on the iPhone. It is currently being marketed to beginners, but folks with artistic training will find this app especially useful for sketching, exploring color ideas or creating quick artful portraits with very little effort. For beginners, good things happen just by following the tutorial movie (basic "big brush to small brush" idea most painters follow); for traditional painters these "sketches" can point the way to starting a canvas in a fresh way; especially to simplify detail, color and textures. I wish I had a tool like this as an art student 20 years ago. Art teachers and students will find new ways to design and break down images and test multiple ideas quickly (I have started photographing and reworking some of my old paintings to take some of them in new directions). It is even starting to replace my little travel sketch books. Photoshop and Painter are great apps, but this little tool is just so much more direct and to the point for many styles of painting. Its an interesting application that can span such a wide range of aspirations in such a simple, powerful way. I love this app! Would pay 50x or more for it (and would have to on a PC or Mac :-). P.S. I see from the reviews that early adoptors with older iPhones and OS versions had trouble with crashes, but Ive had no problems with version 1.3 on my 3GS (32G) with OS 3.0 and 3.1 for whatever thats worth.

And Ive been having a great time with the app. Running on a 3GS with 3.1.
